Madness, a band known for their criminal past, is hypocritical in accusing fans of theft. Their documented history includes breaking and entering, theft, and burglary, targeting laundromats, cinemas, and individuals. Despite their criminal actions, the band expresses annoyance at fan infringement, highlighting their hypocrisy. So we decided to take a serious and critical look at Madness, unwind the fairytale of their now-celebrated behaviour from song, film and book and return them to the reality of life and hold them to the same standards they hold us.

In issue eight, we explore fighting the fans that feed Madness. Before accusing a devoted fan of criminality or pursuing legal action, consider your own history. Madness openly admitted to youthful escapades, including stealing from launderettes, cinemas, and shops. They broke into places, took vinyl records from Camden stores, and even Lynsey de Paul’s home. Known for taking hundreds of records from artists like Chuck Berry and Roxy Music, their past has often been celebrated, despite their hypocritical stance on protecting intellectual property rights, they now have an official excuse.

With the release of most Madzine issues, we are thrilled to offer our readers a special opportunity to own a piece of limited-edition memorabilia in the form of exclusive concept art postcards. These unique cards come in either a 4” x 6” or 5.5” x 8.5” format, depending on the issue, and are carefully curated to reflect the creative essence of Madzine. Each postcard is part of a hand-numbered set, with only 25 copies of each design available. Some editions even come signed by the author, adding an extra layer of collectibility and personalization.

In addition to postcards, we occasionally offer other exclusive items such as CDs featuring rare or unreleased tracks and limited-run posters. These special items are produced in small quantities, making them highly sought after by fans and collectors alike. To ensure you don’t miss out on these limited offerings, be sure to keep an eye on upcoming Madzine releases and grab your exclusive gifts while supplies last!
